In 2014, after 30 exceptionally long years of working as the CEO’s of our own restaurant and retail businesses, my husband and I decided that if we were going to live long enough to enjoy a healthy retirement it was time to divest ourselves of our companies, property, and most of our earthly possessions and head south to a more affordable, relaxed locale. After much research we chose the Riviera Maya of Mexico, a place we loved and had been visiting for the last 30 years. In 2019 I chose to come out of retirement and became an independent insurance broker contracted with Expats Insurance, based in San Miguel Allende. I took an online course, studied, and obtained a Florida insurance license also where I also specialize in assisting seniors with Medicare planning. I have gone back to work with the hopes of trying to help other expats find affordable healthcare plans so that they too could realize their retirement dreams.
